Steven Parsons is the Innovation Manager for Wools of New Zealand, based in the United Kingdom.

Steven is an innovation expert with experience in Carpet Design, Product Development, Innovation, Retail and Commercial Marketing and Digital Media Strategy.  Steven works with international wool businesses to develop new innovations, covering all aspects of yarn and carpet production right through to the promotion of wool products to Architects, Designers and Consumers.

Originally trained as a textile and interior designer Steven worked for over a decade as a carpet designer with woven axminster, wilton, printed and tufted carpets.  Steven’s passion for design and innovation is now being utilised to help wool carpet and textile companies around the world create a better experince for their customers.

Steven is acknowledged as a thought leader in textile innovation and sustainable textiles and works with companies globally to create a remarkable experience with wool.

A few of Steven’s recent projects have involved developing textiles coloured with natural dyes, Textiles coloured with nano particles of gold and silver and the DNA marking of textiles.

Steven is part of the Innovation Steering group at the Huddersfield Textile Centre of Excellence and also currently sits on the International Wool Textile Organisations Carpet Panel.   Also Steven is a member of the UK Carpet Foundation’s Campaign Development Team.
